Location .... Location .... Location

Located in the Connemara Gaeltalcht - Irish speaking district - four miles from the small village of Carna - across the bay from Roundstone and Clifden - one hour from Galway city and a million miles from the hustle and bustle of everyday life this island is a haven of tranquility - with clear white safe sandy beaches, derelict stone cottages, stone built (grass covered) causeway, natural flora, marine and bird life.  The majestic Twelve Bens stand sentry over a naturally stunning coastline dotted with islands and bays that host seasonal traditional  sailing boat and currach festivals - where islanders will be ideally situated to get the best view of the traditional sailing craft - and are welcome to join in the 'craic' with locals and visitors in Carna and at festival venues throughout South  Connemara.  This area is rich in traditional music and song and a variety of venues host music sessions at weekends.  A haven for artists, writers, walkers, lake and sea fishing,  outdoor picnics, fresh seafood, barbeques, or for a relaxing, rejuvenating and secluded break.
